[AusNOG] Very funny NBN skit

No, it's not trivial at all. As I said, pick your poison.
New hardware on the ends is still easier than digging holes to the end user. Or should I say - all the end users. However - sooner or later, those holes need to be dug.
Decent speeds nationally is still a good thing aside from the above, as it's motivation for content to move at least one step closer to the end user.

To suggest that it’ll simply disappear some-time soon is like suggesting that the peak hour congestion on the Sydney Harbour Bridge is going to magically evaporate soon, or to suggest that power oversubscription in QLD in summer will magically disappear & the investment in ‘smart grid’ will largely be wasted. When I was a kid there was almost never any congestion on the single lane Gold Coast – Brisbane highway, yet today the 8-10 lane superhighway that replaced that road locks daily from 30kms south of Brisbane.

And again probably obviously you can draw the same conclusion with just about any country including AU, but I guess the point is, you shouldn't drool too much, most of the internet cannot be reached much beyond 50-100Mbps anyway, so unless you want lots of parallel..

For just $51 per month (if subscribed with a two-year contract), So-net Entertainment will provide customers with a 2Gbps download speed, and a 1Gbps upload speed."
