[AusNOG] Cessnock Exchange

This is one of the reasons why the NBN was created J
Just a pity the ACCC mandated >100 POI L Would have been nice if ACCC said
the NBN could offer as many or as few POI as the customer wanted; with the
NBN owning all the major intercapital/suburban fibre connections of
Telstra's it would have meant Telstra couldn't have undercut the NBN on
backhaul pricing.
I would not have thought that the 'retail lady' really knows that moving to
Telstra retail would fix the problem, though I'm curious, does anyone know
if Telstra really has separate back haul from a DSLAM for wholesale and
retail customers?

Subject: [AusNOG] Cessnock Exchange
Hi All,
We have 6 customers hanging off Cessnock Exchange, all with ADSL speed
problems.
Telstra came back with DSLAM congestion and it couldn't or wouldn't be
fixed.
Telstra currently have no plans to upgrade this DSLAM
One customer went to the local member and to cut a long story short -
ended up with the Telstra Retail lady suggesting a migration to ADSL2+
with BigPond to overcome the problem.
So just to recap:
To fix my customers problem, I have to take my customer off Telstra
Wholesale network and let my customer connect direct with Telstra Retail and
my customer that is now not my customer will be fixed.
I don't understand why it makes Telstra feel good to screw over its
Wholesale customers.
Thanks Keith
