Anybody know if there are any updates on this one ? we have a customer who has their smart host set to mail.bigpond.com and it's getting timeouts, but I can't find any documented issue anywhere on a fault, changing to deliver directly resolves the issue straight away, except for emails to bigpond :-)
Regards
Paul

Hmmm the very same circle of pain as the one I have.
The PBL list stuff was noticeable after I dropped smtp.telstrabusiness.com from the postfix config.

I have a client using smtp.telstrabusiness.com as a smarthost - and he's seeing "451 4.4.0 DNS Query failure" in his Exchange server logs.
The server itself can resolve that address, though, so it's a bit of a mystery.
My temporary solution was to switch the send connector config from smarthost delivery to direct delivery via MX. Changing the various DNS configurations (external DNS, hardcoded DNS etc) did not work. I have not yet tried putting the IP address of the smarthost in place of the name, that would probably work too.
Short of calling Telstra and hoping, I'm not sure I can do much else.
Regards, K.
