[AusNOG] Looking for contact @ Riot Games - LoL Connection problems

Hi there,

I have found a reoccurring issue with loading into a LoL game. I have
previous logged support tickets about this issue but it has got lost and
maybe dropped along the way.

>From what I can tell it seems to be some kind of routing issue inside riot
games AS off of vocus in Australia.

Last time this happened I was unable to ping this IP address, but the
following day I could, with no changes at my end. Reason I say that is the
riot helpdesk was adamant I should check my firewall. :)

Here is a packet capture of what I see on joining a game: (I can send the
full .pcap on request).

My brother works at the upstream ISP so can provide any requested BGP or
other outputs, I work at a different ISP with similar connectivity to the
one I am testing from. (We have a direct peering with Vocus however).

If anyone else is having similar issues you are more than welcome to
respond and help me / Riot Games out. If someone from Riot OCE NoC could
contact me offlist to help fix up this it would be greatly appreciated as
I'm a simple Network Engineer looking for some relaxation from LoL in his
downtime! :D
