Hi Ross,

It’s a shame that they did not work for you :(

If you have no need for them send them back to the address in my signature.

Happy to help :)

Cheers
Shaun

Thanks Jonathan,
Just a quick update, big thanks to everyone who assisted.
Especially Shaun from rackcentral who went out of his way to supply me with 2 working replacement PSUs over the weekend.

Unfortunately this didn't do the trick and after exhausting all possibilities we've gone with restoring the SAP data from backups.

Thanks again everyone.
Shaun drop me a line and I'll get those PSUs back to you mate.

Ross.

There’s a very real possibility that it’s not the PSUs that are dead, but the power distribution board that manages the power from both PSUs itself.

I’ve not seen this happen on HP, but have had it happen once on a SuperMicro server.

In one case, a power supply failed and the system wouldn’t run on the second one until I took it out. It may be worth trying to boot the machine with one PSU at a time, giving a good 20 seconds to let the capacitors in the power distribution board to drain and fully reset.

Kind Regards,
Jonathan

Also any advice on what to try is very welcome !

I've never seen 2 power supplies fail at the same time.
And the server is dead, no leds on the board or even power supplies.
Although 1 power supply's fan spins up....

Cheers
Ross

hi noggers,
I'm in need of a power supply urgently for an old dinosaur that one of our clients is moving.
HP Proliant ML370 G6

It a 460 watt hot swappable psu, both are dead, no green power leds coming up.
All the customer did was power it down...
Need 2 if possible .
