[AusNOG] "The NBN" will run on copper for *ever*

Agreed.
I run a small business and on ADSL2+ we get 6mbps (stability profile
applied to stop the line dropping in and out).
This is the best we can get. This is all we can get. No one wants to do
anything about it.
We are 2km from the exchange (as informed by Telstra).
I live in an apartment block that is also 2km from the same exchange.
I get 15mbps there. Both Telstra.
I vent my frustrations as soon as FTTN is mentioned as I see it as a
quick-fix solution. Anything to do with utilising the horrid copper that
sits below our streets at this point in time is fair to be deemed a quick
fix. Even Telstra has admitted it's degraded and needs to be replaced

.
We won't talk about when it's raining.
Yes. FTTN is better than what we have. Yes, it will provide a better
service than what is currently available. But in reality, it's a half arsed
job that that is going to cost us more in the long run than FTTH

Why not just finish it properly and implement a proper network that we can
be proud of - and that will last for decades to come. Not something that
will be outdated and continue to fall to bits over time (ie. copper).
As for the nodes in apartment blocks:
Will the copper side of this be the responsibility of strata?
Will there be an A side and B side like with the MDFs today where people
fight over ownership?
