Unfortunately I have seen a bit of class-0 spam lately, but at the same
time I've seen a bit of regular SMS spam lately as well.. I guess spammers
will use any platform these days. But you're right, it could be some sort
of new anti-abuse mechanism

Yeah, I can't remember the initial reason - I think it was something to do
with because some users had frequent updates, it saved them saving useless
messages in their inbox, plus it looked sightly more 'professional' that it
wasn't just a regular SMS from a mobile phone. iOS handled them really
well, Android looks a little more alarming starting the notification with
'CLASS 0 MESSAGE'. I understand how ridiculous that saving space line
sounds with the size of today's inboxes, heh.

Yeah, I spoke to them briefly late last week, but they couldn't give me
much... might try them again as they should have some contacts on their
end, as you say.
