[AusNOG] Comments about Amcom?

Amcom is almost exclusively Perth based. They have a little bit of gear in
SA and some POP's in Syd and Melb, but that's about it. When it comes to
fiber in the ground in the Perth metro area the only 2 choices you have are
Telstra and Amcom.

As far as quality of service goes I can only compare them to what I know
which is Telstra, don't have any personal experience with east coast fiber
providers. On that front they are our preferred supplier over telstra.
Their prices are good(compared to telstra), their support is good and far
more responsive and less hoops to jump through if you want a change to your
service. Reliability is basically on par with Telstra's IPWAN, no more than
one "incident" a year or so which is normally resolved within 30 minutes.
Dealing with them is a far more personal experience than you get with
telstra, but that may just be a side effect of their smaller size than
telstra since they only really serve the Perth metro area and not the whole
country.
