It’s you. J Also suspect you’re trolling but just in case you aren’t:
It didn’t have to be iiNet, ACCC would not have stopped any other ISP, or even Woolies, from buying Adam. ACCC just couldn’t get Telstra to agree not to play favourites with Adam. It is important to note here that Telstra refused to agree to certain controls being put in place. Do you/we really want Telstra circumventing regulations to make them even bigger/more powerful? Telstra didn’t seem to cry too much when the deal was knocked on the head so I suspect they knew this deal was a long shot but one worth attempting.
Need to remember that capitalism only works when there is competition. US policy makers understand the principle and enforce it (think AT&T, Microsoft and for history buffs - sugar, tobacco and Standard Oil ), pity that Aus policy makers seem to understand the concept but often fail with enforcement. The only reason to allow a monopoly is when the national interest is better served by keeping the monopoly operating (eg PMG-Telecom) and even then you control it through regulation.

Is it me of is ACCC playing favoritism with every other ISP other than Telstra?
iiNet have both the number one, two and three carrier in SA now outside of Telstra and Optus
Seems to me the politics is getting in the way of what is supposed to me an impartial body.
