Noel,

Because it affects us all. In extra costs, extra complexity, extra
hassles, extra design considerations, less choice in interconnect
options, etc.

I've had multiple customers who have had extra work put on them by cable
re-routing and re-provisioning, which in the end all seems to be caused
by some bullshit turf war.

It is like the days when AAPT through Pipe out of their DC's.... now
Pipe, under the new ownership seems to be doing the same thing. The
company that rose to success largely because of who ran it and how they
operated, no longer seems to consider what people think of them, which
is sad, because it is (or was) a good network asset.

They still have a good value proposition, but this shit doesn't help
anyone.

Ummm, sorry, why should they?

The commercial agreement between them, is, well, between them - nobody
else.

If you have a commercial agreement with PIPE and/or Vocus that's between
you and each peer provider, it doesn't give anyone the right to know how
they connect or why they change things.

End result is, you are all still connected to the Internet, nobody has
dropped off the face of it because of this.
Life goes on.
