Having worked with this process before (Coalition NBN v0.5a), I can assure you that the truth is stranger than the fiction you'll read in the industry press.

The result is that only the credible-sounding rumours get leaked.

Spare a thought for the NBNco employees, talented folk who would probably like to be doing good work right now; going to work each day in Australia's most expensive waiting room.
