[AusNOG] What are we , collectively, doing about the impending mandatatory censorship scheme?

I think one of the major issues which you may come across is the reluctance,
from a PR standpoint, for a company to oppose the filter in the public
arena. iiNet are the only major provider which I am aware that have done so
(however I may be wrong here), other than that it seems to be people
working independently.

Unfortunately, I'm aware of at least one provider which notified their staff
that they were NOT to comment on the filtering situation in the public arena
-- fearing that it may come back as the companies opinion on the situation
-- even to the point of trying to prevent their staff from voicing their
opinion on social networking sites.

It seems that some providers would rather the issue be fought for them,
rather than taking hold of the situation.
