I think one of the major issues which you may come across is the reluctance, from a PR standpoint, for a company to oppose the filter in the public arena. iiNet are the only major provider which I am aware that have done so (however I may be wrong here), other than that it seems to be people working independently. <div>
<br></div><div>Unfortunately, I'm aware of at least one provider which notified their staff that they were NOT to comment on the filtering situation in the public arena -- fearing that it may come back as the companies opinion on the situation -- even to the point of trying to prevent their staff from voicing their opinion on social networking sites.<div>
<div><br></div><div>It seems that some providers would rather the issue be fought for them, rather than taking hold of the situation.</div><div><br></div><div><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Wed, Jul 7, 2010 at 11:22 PM, Phillip Grasso <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:phillip.grasso@gmail.com" target="_blank">phillip.grasso@gmail.com</a>></span> wrote:<br>

<div>The problem is that not enough 'outcry' from the industry is there, so Conroy is free to say he's got the support of the industry, with a possibly few big players in his back pocket due to NBN, he can say things such as 'industry consultation/support' etc.<div>

(1) Will there be a piece/feature/segment in The Program for AusNOG04 regarding

(2) Will many-and-various media-presences be requested to record the

And yes, (1) is obviously and clearly a Network Operations issue.<br>

If we do or at least *achieve* nothing, then it will have significant
operational consequences amounting to non-trivial financial impact.<br>
