[AusNOG] Telstra TIPT/NIPT SIP issues

Hey all,

Any Telstra TIPT customers on the list that have had any problems this morning?

Our TIPT services failed at about 8:45 this morning (AEST), and after having a bit of a dig it looks to be a DNS resolution problem for sbc-nsw.nipt.telstra.com, which seems to be only reachable via the Telstra TIPT links.

I’m getting some really odd results, giving us servfails half the time, and the glue I’m receiving when it is successful points off to 2 DNS hosts that are not reachable via the links or the internet:

So far it seems to be working fine as long as I force nipt.telstra.com. to be resolved against the two original DNS hosts that are routed down the TIPT links on 203.52.x.x ranges.….

We have a case open with Telstra about this, just interested if anybody out there is seeing problems as well? You’d have to be using the DNS names on your SBC’s, as IP wise its fine….
