[AusNOG] Windows 10 Pro Hangs after login

Hi Jason,

Some members of this list can be quite “blunt” and jump to the wrong conclusions (i.e. assume it was Windows Updates, and automatically assumes that everyone has this and that and the other thing deployed). Some cannot even read, which quite clearly appears to be the case here. And some will never change.

Did your computers complete updates prior to these issues occurring? What percentage of computers had this problem in comparison to those that did not?

Hi All,

Yesterday we had a bunch of computers that were hung after login with the spinny thing ™ in the middle of the screen.  Some sat like that for hours and we had to reinstall windows.  Others seems to have come good on their own.

Today we have a dozen more.

We can get in as administrator and it looks like its right but can’t send any input, menus don’t work. We did access the task menu and can launch some things. Such as msconfig, compmgmt.msc, etc

There are errors in the event log starting DCOM or similar, I don’t have it in front of me.

Has anyone seen this before, help!!
