I'm certainly open to be corrected, but I'd say having worked on a few
networks of reasonable scale over the years that my experience is that it
is quite hard to do this well enough to have it automatically update a
public-facing webpage.

How do you cater for the case when you miss a trap, showing a site/area
available, when it really is not? That's the very first and simplest issue
I can think of, but it's of course a lot more complicated than that and
requires a bit of thought. I'd have never thought I'd be seeing a reply to
a question like this with "It's a simple <xxxxxx>" ;)
