[AusNOG] Optus ULL Port To Telstra

Hey Andrew,

Usually “churn” would refer to a same network transfer. For transfers between networks (such as Optus ULL -> Telstra PSTN) a different process applies.

The process to bring any ULL service back to the Telstra PSTN network is called a Port-ULLs return. If you have a Telstra Wholesale account and access to LOLO, it’s very easy to do. When performing a New Service request you add the “Port-ULLs Return” request item at the Service Customisation step. Telstra then use a variation of the TULL process to bring the inplace back to the Telstra network. If there are multiple lines, it’s a good idea to ask your customer to get the ULL identifier of each line from the previous provider so you can make sure each line retains the same phone number following the port.

The usual timeframe is 2-4 weeks, and the normal inplace connection fee will apply for each line ($59 exchange connection / $125 site connection). I don’t recall if Telstra Wholesale charge an extra fee for the Port-ULLs return component so you would probably want to check with them on that before going ahead.
