[AusNOG] Jobs - degree vs experience?

My recent experience(last week) for RPL was at Deakin University was for
2 subjects being (Enterprise Network Construction & Enterprise Network
Management ) for a degree in Bachelor of Information Technology 'cloud
computing' in off-campus mode.(So close to finishing now I can taste it!)..

I was able to obtain a RPL those two subjects by using a CCENT & CCNA
cisco cert's, a cisco network academy program I did at a local TAFE back
in 2001( I thought 10 years was the general limit on previous studies?)
and threw in my ACMA cablers license(phone/fiber/structured/coax) into
the submission.
That said the unit chair who I had been messaging said I could have also
used a letter from my employer as I work in the networking satellite
field to assist in with the RPL application .
Peter L, sorry to hear about that unfortunate event. Sounded like the
lecturer wasn't prepared to help you 'the student' to even try for the
RPL process...

Just info for anyone in Australia who is trying for a RPL, the official
process can be found at the 'Australian Qualifications Framework' web site:
