Have to agree on this.  if I am following a thread I have probably just read all the email any way, why do I need to scroll down to get to the important info.

Vs I find the email on an archive and I haven't just read the thread.

Given how most email clients display the data by default, top posting makes more sense, as to get to your bottom posting I have to scroll through the email chain that I've already read to get to the relevant information.

But I have given up fighting it. Outlook's default setting all those years ago, killed any chance of bottom posting becoming the norm.


It's not just Outlook.  I have to make a conscious effort to not do it in the Gmail web interface, and it's even harder to avoid when on the move using the Gmail app on my Android device.
