Hey guys,

Apologies if this has already gone around, but I hadn't seen it yet.

For those that are interested, Cisco has launched its Nbase-T gear (multi-gig eth), including 4500-E gear, 3850's, 3560cx's and a 6500 line card.

For those about to upgrade gear (as we are) it's a good consideration with AC Wave 2 coming (ETA TBD though) and gear starting to demand more than a 1gb port can offer, plus you can use it over older cabling (assuming cabling quality is up to scratch etc.)

All up, pretty interesting, even if it's a stop gap measure in the long run.

Cisco's FAQ on N-base:
http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/solutions/collateral/enterprise-networks/catalyst-multigigabit-switching/multigigabit-ethernet-technology.pdf

There is tonnes more info out there and I believe there is a competing product that does a similar thing.

Thanks,
