[AusNOG] Belong - Powered by Telstra

My assumption would be it is as simple as attempting to distance themselves from the stigma of a Bigpond connection with its associated contracts, fees etc, while still capitalising on the Telstra brand of solid connections and less congestion.

Technologically I’d say they are very similar, if not even sharing all the same backend infrastructure….

PS – first I had heard of them as well, though like others I don’t want a lot of Australian broadcast TV other than ABC kids :P

I would be interested to know the difference if any as well. My first thought was it is just a marketing strategy. Among other things, it allows them to place two ads in Google and double up in other areas. Then the marketing they do directly with Telstra trickles over to the 'powered by Telstra' Belong also.
