[AusNOG] Strange ADSL problem - troubleshooting / diagnosis advice wanted

Since your error counters are clean, and have stable line sync (I 
think), changing the ADSL firmware might just confuse the matter?
I think your problem is at a higher layer - Wireshark is your friend ;-)
