[AusNOG] WAN link outages in Melbourne

Hi Robert,

Just a quick update in case you haven't heard from anyone yet, our circuits
at this exchange (LVTN) were resolved by 6PM. We were informed there were
many services to restore, so my guess is they are working through them all.

We haven't had an official response informing us they are fixed, but we're
seeing traffic as normal.

Hopefully yours are too.

Is anyone hearing anything at all on this? Telstra won't talk to me as I'm
not a direct customer, and my provider says Telstra won't talk to them
either (that's when I call the provider, who apparently don't believe in
proactive communication during a widespread outage).

My specific carrier called, told us the issue was fixed. Asked us to
reboot the onsite router. That didn't work.

They asked us to reboot the router and the CPE as well. That didn't work
either.

Turns out that they now acknowledge that it may be the Telstra issue that
others have reported - which makes me wonder what the hell they were
"fixing" to start with...

For what it's worth, it's nearly two hours now that we've been down for,
I'd suggest others are in a similar position. No information from Telstra
on an expected resolution time apparently.

Hi all,

Is anyone seeing any widespread network issues in the Laverton area near
Melbourne (or wider in the Melbourne area)?

We've got a site down, we've called our WAN provider, and have been on hold
(not even having spoken to anyone yet) for over 15 minutes now, so we
suspect they either have a problem themselves or their last-mile partner (I
believe it's Optus or Telstra) is having issues.

Cheers.
