[AusNOG] Outdoor (IP Rated) 19" Enclosures

I've had reasonably good success with the B&R Ausrack IP series (http://www.brenclosures.com.au/IP_rated_rack.htm). Plenty of options to choose from off the shelf; alternately, if you need something that's not listed, they're generally happy to quote up the mods on spec. Good turnaround times to the West even though all their stock is ex-QLD.
Rittal also do a nice outdoor rack (don't have a model handy, sorry, but stacks of room, good accessory list and the option of a bolt-on AC) that I've put through a couple of cyclones and the gear inside has kept running without a hitch. Can probably dig up a spec sheet and model number etc if required, though I recall these being special ordered as Rittal didn't have a big presence locally when we bought them (which has now changed).
Regards,
-Brad.

Subject: [AusNOG] Outdoor (IP Rated) 19" Enclosures
Hi all,
Just having a hunt around for outdoor 19” enclosures (racks), we have a couple of requirements.
· A range of sizes 18RU, 24RU and 42RU.
· Floor mount
· Wall mount for the smaller sizes (18 – 24RU)
· At least 600-700mm deep.
· Front, lockable door.
· IP rating, not extreme, just basic weatherproof. Enclosures to be housed under awnings.
· Decent ventilation.
· A really nice to have would be option of bolt on AC.
· Vertical cable management, i.e. extra wide but still 19”
· A decent lead-time. 2/3 weeks max.
I have seen the custom jobs that you can get from the likes of MFB (http://mfb.com.au/products/outdoor/outdoor-housing/) but wanted to know if there is more off-the-shelf / better products available.
We already use some for our SCADA and PLC systems in the field but always looking for better options, pretty sure these are custom designed and built to order.
I would be interested in hearing experiences with these type of enclosures if anyone would care to share. Searching back through the forums there has only been one post I could find regarding this topic in 2010, hopefully a few more answers now (http://lists.ausnog.net/pipermail/ausnog/2010-March/004972.html)
