Cheers – I saw a marked improvement when dropping their routes thanks to internal convergence time, but it’s still far from perfect.
I’ve sent you a direct email.

Hi Shannon,
Thanks for the feedback.
I also filtered their prefixes, but realised they were still accepting mine, so the return traffic was still breaking - as you say, success was limited.
I think at this point any pressure would help, 'cause when I originally logged the ticket with Pipe Peering, they said we were the only ones complaining.
The response I got back from Akamai earlier today was: "We understand the severity of the issue and hence have prioritized it as a critical-issue at our end and are working on it."
Thanks again,

Hi Ryan,
Yes, we’ve seen some pain as a result of this.
I’ve had some success filtering their prefixes from our PIPE interface, but other upstreams are also taking their path so success is limited.
I had a ticket open via a partner, and was advised that the issue had been fixed, although info on the looking glass still suggests otherwise.
Can I help provide additional pressure?

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to find out if anyone else has been feeling the pain with Akamai's BGP flapping on Pipe's Peering IX in Victoria ?
This has been going on for weeks - I currently have a ticket open with them, and they're aware of the problem, but taking their time to resolve it.
We've had two flaps already today:
6:45am AEDT
12:15pm AEDT
Our customers are feeling the pain, primarily those using www.xero.com
Kind regards,
Ryan van Klaveren
