Yes thanks… by following that and a few other links it looks like ULL which are ordered as Special Services equivalent can be retained (for now) – although unlikely in FttN areas.
That answers that question which is useful (hopefully the providers are ordering the ULLs correctly so we don’t get unceremoniously disconnected).

Still doesn’t bode well with nobody offering TC2 based services (yet) though.

My understanding (from things I've heard) is that pretty much the only thing that WILL be cut over is PSTN/ADSL services. The big gap in my knowledge is what happens with ULL (ie. naked) services from other providers. Given that business SHDSL services are retained and these are essentially the same as ULL ADSL2+ services, I would have to think that ULL services will remain. Same for MBE, it's just a bunch of ULL's mashed together, so if it's staying, no reason for any ULL service not to remain ? They could of course make a distinction between ULL's for residential and ULL's for business and allow one to continue to be ordered and not the other.

The only real reason that PSTN/ADSL services are being cut over is that the govt is paying telstra a bucket of money to make this happen to get some critical mass onto the NBN. Otherwise telstra (and others) would continue to happily offer DSL services at a price cheaper than a comparative NBN service and most people would happily stay with that.

It is being built essentially in parallel to the existing CAN, so there is no requirement to get rid of the copper for duct/pit capacity constraints. This is being addressed by putting in new infrastructure as required.

I agree that some clarification on ULL services would be good, I don't think anyone really knows at this point, especially with FTTN potentially being used. They would then need to either leave the ULL go back to the existing exchange location (for ULL services to continue to work) or they end up stranding any existing ULL based services (ie. the MBE services you're talking about). There could well be a couple of different "rules" depending on what sort of NBN services the area (FTTH, FTTN, HTC, etc).

Long time reader, first time poster ;-)

Two questions:
1.       NBN has released their “business grade” products offering symmetrical bandwidth AVC in 5/10/20/30/40Mbps options with Traffic Class 2 profile for separated and priority traffic configuration.
So far as I can see this has been out for several months?!... But none of the major wholesalers are offering TC2 services that I can see… AAPT/TPG, Amcom, Nextgen, Symbio, Telstra have all said no (or can’t point me in the right direction)… and none of the
major retail providers seem to be offering these services on their websites.
Can anyone help me connect a 10/10M service in Pinjarra in WA on TC2 (it’s a business location for multi-channel voice, and needs QoS and preferably guaranteed bandwidth)???

2.       A provider also mentioned that services ordered on MBE in areas with NBN connections won’t be cut off when the PSTN lines get disconnected.  So if say an area is slated for cut-off in August 2015, a service ordered on a 2 year MBE contract today is still fine.  This doesn’t sound right – if copper is disconnected, surely this applies to ULL services as well (why maintain part of a network?), or are there some exemptions that apply to ULL services, and if so – any indication on how long these may hang around after NBN switchover?  In the absence of readily available business grade NBN services (and given the high cost of 1:1 NBN services in metro areas where MBE services are substantially cheaper)… MBE still looks like a good option, I’m just not sure if the provider is telling a porky when I’ve seen no publicly available information about ULL services continuing?
