I have completed this before in as over a megaport direct connect. Forgive me if I get the aws terms wrong we don't have an instance anymore
I remember adding a /30 on the direct connect
Then adding in the route table a default route out the vgw for the direct connect whilst removing the igw as it wouldn't be needed.
Happy to discuss off list if you want. I have had it working even if that doesn't make sense :)

Yup.. all that part is good.
But, with an EC2 instance... how do you tell it to go out the Direct Connect as a default gateway.
I am BGP sending a default gateway, and the route table seems fine, and AWS is sending me the route.....
But.. how does the server know where to go?

Does anyone have any experience using AWS EC2 with public (their own)

My VPC, routing everything seems fine... BGP coming through, but I
can't get to the EC2 test instance and DHCP doesn't seem to have a way
for me to specify the default gateway...
Just a bit mind boggling.
