… or just send a copy of the detailed report to every AFP Officer in the nation with a note saying “we liked their idea so much we’ve made an early start on it in order to assist”

Subject: Re: [AusNOG] Fwd: Ten questions about metadata retention

Step 1 – identify the ISP links of several prominent politicians
Step 2 – collect comprehensive metadata
Step 3 – anonymize the collected metadata
Step 4 – analyse the metadata, identify patterns of usage / behaviour (to each specific service) and generate real-world descriptions of “what they have been up to”
Step 5 – publish said details (no personally identifying data to be released, only “we saw THIS being done by politicians”)

Report should include “and THIS is the ten-second overview, if we put REAL effort into it, the argument *it’s only metadata – who cares* is clearly null and void”.

Enjoy!
