No it was .oz on the ACSnet side and .oz.au on the Internet side
once it was gatewayed out. We dmssyd.oz used to connect to munnari.oz
over csironet the bills for which hit my boss's csironet account.
I can remember getting my first net blocks in Oct 88 (a class B for
the division's Sydney offices and class C's for Canberra, Adelaide
and Perth offices, this was pre-CIDR) and running a slip link between
SU and NML (CSIRO) as well as other slip links between CSIRO sites.
Most of these became mircowave links eventually.
