      With NBN, Granny Myrtle McCready will now need a NTU that needs a
power brick with a battery. She will also need an ATA (which ALSO needs
power).

   Or she could just plug the phone into the voice port on the NTU, which
already has (battery-backed) power.


Or she could keep the POTS PSTN line she has now.

We are assuming the POTS lines need to be disconnected but that's a
commercial consideration, not a technical one.
