What I don't understand is how this would work when multiple Government
agencies want to use the single port - from what I've seen in the past it'd
be unlikely that there would be enough coordination between agencies to
share in a way that made this straightforward (and hence not need elaborate
/ complex / fragile / buggy CPE in order to do this). Multiplexing services
from multiple Government agencies (many who love RFC1918 address space just
a little bit too much) strikes me as being much harder to implement than
perhaps it seems on the surface.

As Mark Smith mentioned - doing this with CommunityNet was a fairly basic
similar concept and that was beyond most end users and many CPE. Seems a
lot less effort to just put it on the public 'net.

Seems to work ok for the most part *goes to check the weather on the BoM
website*
