Actually FTP is supported, but not too much more - also the firmware is dated as 2009 as the latest firmware. 

MAX session table is 1K 

10/100 mbps only

In short old product and limited functionality.  But interesting product.

i suspect its more to do with things like ftp, tftp, and sip. protocols that negotiate extra connections need proxying.
