Key Responsibilities:
- Handle level 2 support requests
- Work with key clients on long and short term projects
- Provisioning of CPE including routers, IP phones and wireless access points
- Monitoring and responding to alerts on the WAN
- Onsite support at any of our on-net buildings or datacentres within or in close proximity to the Melbourne CBD
- Troubleshooting (Hardware, Network and Software issues)
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting ability
- Demonstrated understanding of networking protocols, IP addressing, VLAN's, the OSI model and routing principles
- Proficiency with current versions of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems and applications
- A solid understanding of IP telephony, the SIP protocol and VoIP
- IP VPN
- Cisco CLI (routers and switches)
- Linux CLI (CentOS)
- Ethernet switching and layer 2 technologies
Highly Regarded Skills:
- Knowledge in MicroTik hardware and RouterOS (training will be provided)
- Microsoft and Cisco certifications
- Experience with cloud environments (eg Amazon Web Services)
- Asterisk
- Mac OS X and Apple IOS
Personal Attributes:
- Attention to detail, documentation and following accurate change control procedures
- Resourcefulness, flexibility, sense of urgency and a positive can-do attitude
- Highly professional phone manner and a strong focus on customer service
Remuneration will be based on skills and experience.
