[AusNOG] Juniper vs Cisco vs Brocade - what's best for BGP routing?

I personally have doubts about Huawei. I doubt I need to say why I have
those doubts. Cisco and "limited budget" rarely go together unless you're
buying second hand (and then other players' gear is cheaper second hand
too). I've no experience with Juniper, so can't comment on their products.

Brocade have a few devices that can do what you're after. Out of the
CES/CER pairing, you'd want the CER if you're looking for a full Internet
routing table (the CES would potentially suffice if you were taking a
summarised table from an upstream provider).

The next step up from Brocade is their MLX kit. That's getting pretty
serious though, and given you mentioned your do have a limited budget
(though didn't say how limited), I'd suggest the CER is probably what
you're after.

If you need a tame Brocade reseller, let me know, I'll give you a contact.

Regards,

Robert
