[AusNOG] IP Information

 I would say its not Maxmind's ISP database  as I have never once submitted to them,  and its updated within 24hours of me making changes in myapnic portal

I just dont know if its IP based or ASN based

One way to find out.. :D

No, it is NOT a whois - or at least, not a whois on the IP address.

If I had to guess I'd say it's coming from Maxmind's "ISP" database, although it is also possible that it's based on the AS owner information.
