Hi Mitch,

How do you feel that my response does not comply with the charter? It is discussion of specific implementation issues that require cooperation among internet infrastructure related service providers (fortinet) is after all a firewall/router, so I'm baffled by your response. The moderation never specifies each item must be solely on a network related issue, and makes it clear that it is more than just network issues.

It appears that you in totality have an issue with my initial greeting "Dear IT Industry Member", rather than anything within the actual content.

I'll take it onboard, as I've already advised, but will continue in using the FORUM as means to find experience rather than blatant needle in a haystack Google queries. If you feel that this is the best way to find the experience and organisations that you need in your business, that's something you are able to utilise.

If you have a problem with my post, please escalate to moderation.

Thanks.

Chris

Hi Chris.

The Australian Network Operators group (AusNOG) Is a list for Network Operators, Not a source to find information not related to network operations in cases where research has been lacking or you are unable to use Google to find the answer.

I suggest keeping unrelated topics off the list. There are many other sources of this information on-line including:
http://lists.linuxfoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/virtualization

VmWare also have a list you can sign up to at:
http://www.vmware.com/mail_list

As far as I am concerned business research is not related to Network Operations, I am not a Moderator, Simply a watcher who does not appreciate this sort of spam in my mailbox.

If the email contents was related to networking, For example: Recommendation on switching, Security or IP Telephony then I am sure you will get many more welcome replies.

The AusNOG Charter is available here:
http://www.ausnog.net/mailing_list/charter

I bring attention to:
This is NOT a forum for journalists to pick up leads, sales people to
sell things, end-users to pester their ISP, or bush lawyers to posit
their beliefs. Such behaviour will not be tolerated (see "Moderation"
below).

The AusNOG mailing list has been established to provide a forum for
the exchange of technical information, the discussion of specific
implementation issues that require cooperation among internet
infrastructure related service providers (eg ISP/ASP/DC etc)

Thanks
Mitch K

Dear IT Industry Member,

My business is currently making changes to service offerings and we are looking at restructuring some minor items in the way we deliver service provision.

In particular, we are currently seeking third party advisory firms to assist in recommendations in addition to our internal team on the following technologies;

1) Fortinet Fortigate
2) VMware
3) PHD Virtual
4) esXpress

If you are a specialist (and I only require specialists!) in any one of these areas, can you please email me back, with the following information;

A) Capability Summary
B) Complete Technology  Stack
C) Information on size of your business/employer
D) Technical Service Fees Summary
