[AusNOG] VPLS OSPF question

iBGP as an IGP has the update-source issue (I.e. Update from loopback instead) - requiring an IGP to establish your iBGP.

Sure, but generally I would avoid using iBGP in lieu of an IGP. There are exceptions as always.
