Interestingly, anyone buying international IP transit in Australia in any sort of volume is probably getting a rate around the same rate per meg, if not less than the NBN CVC charges. So, if it costs the NBN that much to drag data 10's of kilometers on average, I'd hate to see the costs to drag it thousands of kilometers under the ocean. Obviously dedicated transport capacity might be a different story, but still..

I wish he’d build a bank instead to drive THOSE prices down!

This Government is now well down the road to ruin QANTAS

And well down the road of crippling further investment in mining

They’ve already caused the crippling of investment in the telecommunications sector

Perhaps it’s time to update the old Python role of ‘Minister for silly walks’ to “Minster for stupid silly statements”.

And to think this man graduated in Economics!

Threatens 'unfettered power' to drive down prices.

Communications minister Stephen Conroy has threatened to fund a new submarine link between Australia and the US out of the National Broadband Network budget if international pricing does not fall to reasonable levels.

Discuss!
