Before joining Google in 2003, Milner worked at Lucent Technologies and Avaya, communications and computer networking companies, according to his LinkedIn page. Milner created a program called NetStumbler, the page also says, and describes the early version of NetStumbler as "the world's first usable 'Wardriving' application for Windows."

What interests me is that the guy created NetStumbler ..

This is quite epic, he managed to get his software (effectively) attached to cars that were, at least trying, to drive past every single house and down every single road on the planet.
