What is interesting is the number of times you are given a number to call back on that is not verifiable in a 3rd party directory on the legitimate website of the purported company. This can often be legitimate but is bad practice.

If any organisation call me asking for my personal information, I always ask for a number to call them back on.
It amazes me that people still get caught out with giving away personal information...

I think the only really odd thing is that it kind of reads like spam, as in how it was written.

But, I appreciated the info.  With the number of things we sign up to and the number of banks that feel totally comfortable ringing you from a private number and asking for your name and DOB, identity theft is of moderate concern to me and I didn't know that service existed.
