Have you tried all the different servers close to you?

I find that we have varying speeds on our connection depending on the
server selected, but i know UberGlobal/Optus give us some of the best
speeds and very accurate. It might just come down to the fact there is
not a Speedtest host that peers close to your provider.

At the end of the day, it is what it is a very and dirty way to check
the speed of a connection via http. Sometimes i just don't have the
time to setup iperf on a box :)
