Google Maps API has limits on the amount of transactions you can do in a 24 hour period and if your site is not accessible to the outside world then you are meant to pay. - https://developers.google.com/maps/licensing 
Also the Google Maps API allows you to geocode which means that you feed in an address and it returns a Lat, Long with an accuracy. I am not sure if it works back the other way.
