Good morning noggers,
On my morning commute I came across this article:
http://www.theage.com.au/national/liberals-up-ante-on-internet-20110803-1ibq3.html

Whilst it has all the usual fud I was wondering if anyone has any technical details of this "solution"

>From what I could gleam from the article they are wanting to hand back everything to Tel$tra, including the NBN fiber that has been laid and then utilise a "mix of technologies" to service Australia.

I was hoping someone on the list may have a better idea of that because the article appears to use NBN FTTP first off, if thats not available then HFC, then DSL, then fixed wireless/satellite.

My question is: how the hell would that be any different from the current setup pre-NBN? Im just hoping that this isn't a re-hashed plan to try to stop the NBN and might actually have some worthwhile content.
