[AusNOG] Google DNS 8.8.8.8

There are plenty of benefits using the Google DNS service just not in oz*.

*(In some places you really want to use it rather then the local or in
country DNS, and the latency is the least of your problems as others have
already pointed out). (namely not supporting NXDOMAIN or unreliable dns
resolution).

*Most* ISP DNS servers are pretty reliable / good speedwise in Australia.
You'll likely be slightly slower using 8.8.8.8 from Australia.
