[AusNOG] Web Application Load Balancer recommendations

There's a few choices depending upon the features and logic required.

Squid and derivatives can do this. The external ACL helpers let you
write all sorts of things as external scripts to handle parts of the
processing logic. You can also cache various bits too as needed.

Other popular choices include apache (mod_proxy) and lighttpd (using
its' proxy mode.)

There's others (varnish, pound, etc) whose suitability depend upon
your workload and expected client profiles.
