I'm not sure how this will look long term, but in the industry briefings
last week in Sydney one of the major concerns by the operations group at NBN
Co seemed to be forecasting for customer demand so they can stick an ONT on
the side of a house while they're passing it in the street and avoid a
second truck roll. This really makes sense when you consider that certain
larger RSPs are probably going to be using the same sub-contracted work
forces as NBN Co do for their rollout. They seemed to indicate no plans to
connect homes that didn't have a service order already placed by an RSP
based on what I heard and saw in the brief.
