Andrew,

We use both Optus (XYZed) and Powertel SHDSL tails.

While both are excellent and many of our tails have been up for as close to
100% as you could imagine, its in my opinion that Powertel's tails when any
issue might occur are resolved quicker.

I would say that many of the SHDSL circuits we have supplied would not have
suffered more than the scheduled downtime in over two years.  More often
than not the outages that do occur - and particularly the extended outages
are as a result of copper damage.

In short - would we rely on them (as we have other many options available to
our clients) - and answer would be yes - but perhaps you could also consider
newer Ethernet over Copper where multiple copper tails reduce the likelihood
of a single copper bringing down the connection.
