Hi All,
I'm investigating fibre availability for a commercial-in-confidence project in regional NSW and had a few questions:
1. Are there any openly available tools to assist with a feasibility study and to focus discussions with providers or is it a matter of reaching out to each potential service provider individually?
(note: I have seen that Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) is rolling out a "Digital Utility Portal" however this is still in pilot stage - link: https://portal.byda.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/BYDA-Digital-Utility-Portal-Pilot-User-Intro.pdf.)
2. Is there anybody else besides the main players to speak with in regional NSW?
3. What questions should we ask of carriers to confirm commercial availability, technical availability and physical diversity? What does a typical response look like?
4. What are typical requirements/specifications that a carrier would ask for so we can prepare in advance for those conversations?
Kind Regards,
Peter
