[AusNOG] [EXTERNAL] Re: Serial Console Servers for OOB

I’ve just bought a tonne of ZPE Nodegrid Gate SR and Bold SR.

They came in cheaper than the opengears, and had a better set of features, incl wireguard, dual 4G modems, quad sims, and my favourite - they have SFP+ ports on them which negated the need for a switch + opengear, reducing the complexity quite a bit and halving the device count (some sites don’t have any copper or 1G port capabilities, at all)!

Would recommend.

Nick

+1 for Opengear

We’re using Opengear to provide this functionality - https://opengear.com/

Hi all,

Can anyone suggest a good console server for serial connections with nice security features for external access like VPN, Firewall, etc? What are you using that would recommend?

Andres
