Not correct. Anyone can run there own Authoritative name servers for a
domain. This may be you OR your registry.
The Nameserver data configured for your domain is used by the domain
registry to populate the servers delegated to the applicable TLD.
example:
>
https://www.iana.org/domains/root/db/au.html
You are reliant on these TLD servers, so a query about your domain can
be passed to the correct Authoritative NS.
